"A double minded man is unstable in all his ways"
I was checking out the two-bit Orthodox theologian and actor Nathan Lee Lewis IMDb filmography here, and I noticed a short 2013 film he has top billing in called "Fathers". There are only two other actors who appear in the film besides him. The film's producer, Phillip L. Dixon II, plays the part of Jason, Kelsey McDonald plays his wife Megan, and Nathan plays the part of Jason's father.
I noticed that the film had a couple of external link's where one could view it, one for Vimeo and another on it's Facebook page. On it's FB page it is described thus "A man confronts his father for leaving when he was young." Well naturally, I wanted to watch it, and I just loved it, I suppose for all the wrong reasons one may say.
Afterwards I sent the links to my friend, Joanna Higginbotham, so I could get her assessment of Nathan's performance. If you read my post, "Time To Waste" about another film gem Nathan was in called "Purdie Wars... A Star Wars Silent Film (told in Pantomime)" you may remember I hated it, while Joanna really found it enjoyable. However she was utterly appalled by this films F' words, mainly the F word coming from the regurgitated Milan Synod's Reader. Here's what she wrote about it in an email to me...
JH: "That Nathan would accept a role where he had to use the f-word is a serious indicator that his acting career is evil. He should have told them to change the script. He should not have permitted the word in the son's lines either. For an Orthodox layman such an utterance is a sin. For clergy it is far greater a sin. But, he's not really clergy – Milan has no power/authority to ordain any clergy – and he's not really Orthodox either. Outside the Church lawlessness reigns and he is just part of that lawlessness."
No doubt she would have liked this film better if it was a silent movie like "Purdie Wars..." and Nathan and the other guy were just flipping each other the one finger salute, I don't know. I guess she just doesn't understand that it really wasn't the "Journey To Orthodoxy" Reader Nathan that said that F word, no, it was the actor Nathan Lee Lewis who said that. Big difference, right ?
Here's another one of many of Nathan's hypocritical quotes on the subject of his "Christian film making" This one is taken from the "Journey To Orthodoxy"post he calls "Brass and Cymbals"....
" God has called us to go into the all the world and preach the gospel. The larger the visual platform, the greater the audience we have, and the greater the responsibility. Our lives are constantly on display"
You go on with your bad Christian film maker self, Nathan Lee Lewis!....and you too Franky Schaeffer. Franky Schaeffer, what a "Christian film maker" role model to be promoting. Are you serious Nathan! More on this other knucklehead later.
Here's something the "JTO Nathan" wrote about us on his "Blooger Troll Confesses to Criminal Record-Big Deal!" ...
" Expect to see a flurry of public vitriolic activity directed toward JTO and author Nathan Lee Lewis as a result of this post and others who are now speaking out. More lies, conjecture, insinuation and libelous statements are sure to come. Christie has even attempted to do JTO author, Nathan Lee Lewis, personal and financial harm with fabricated accusations regarding his business and livelihood. Through his company, Rocky Top Pictures, Lewis is currently producing a pro-life feature film, and a feature film on the life of Saint Moses The Black, among others. Now, Higginbotham seemingly has joined Christie in this effort to slander Lewis' character and thwart these efforts. Such conduct brings to mind the words of Christ, "Render unto Caesar that which belongs to Caesar and render unto God that which belongs to God." To engage in public slanderous and libelous statements is illegal - and in this case, appeal to Caesar, is a viable option. For four years JTO has followed the principle, "Do not answer a fool in his folly, lest you become like him" , but there comes a time when one must push back on those who would, as a matter of deliberate practice, harm the cause of Christ by intentionally harming his children, or anyone for that matter."
OK... Here's some more things the "JTO Nathan" had to say about me from the same post. I don't know, call me crazy but it seems to me a bit hypocritical of him to try to separate the Orthodox theologian, Bible thumping, prophetic, squeaky-clean, I am above all "JTO Nathan" from the Hollywood director, producer, actor Nathan. He writes...
" Now, all would agree that if we repent, God is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and cleanse us from all unrighteousness, but an obvious, arrogant, rebellious, and lawless sense of entitlement seems to characterize Mr. Christie's conduct still today. "Quite frankly, I am not in monastic obedience to anyone...", Christie said. JTO first learned of Mr. Christie four years ago when he began to attempt to post comments on the JTO blog. The vitriolic and false nature of the comments, laced with name calling, sarcasms, and profanity, did not warrant posting. JTO's refusal to publicly post his comments, brought a barrage of accusations from Christie of "censorship!"
Profanity? well, I do admit I used a naughty word, the bullshit word, when I made some of my comments to Nathan about the bullshit he wrote. I also admit I called him a megaassahola. I have no defense to this since obviously I am arrogant, rebellious, have a lawless sense of entitlement and am not in monastic obedience to anyone, nor am I a prophet or Hollywood actor type Orthodox theologian. Boy, it's a good thing I didn't use that F-word when I commented to him or I may have gotten in big trouble with the Screen Actor Guild!
Now before we move on to our feature film, "Fathers", I would like to present Mr. JTO with the Journey TO Knuckleheads From The Underworld Lifetime Achievement Award. Well done Mr. JTO, Congratulations!
Now, for your viewing pleasure, "Fathers"
